A 20-year Solar PPA has been agreed to by Japan’s Renova

In a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA), Japanese renewable energy producer Renova Inc (TYO:9519) will supply local petroleum products manufacturer and distributor Suzuyo Shoji Co Ltd with electricity derived from solar photovoltaic (PV) plants with a total capacity of 1 MW.

Small distributed generation (DG) solar projects will be implemented under Japan’s Non-feed-in-tariff (FiT) programme. Non-FIT non-fossil certificates will also be sold under this PPA.

Renova’s wholly-owned subsidiary First Solar Power GK will operate the solar systems. The solar capacity to be developed by Renova can be gradually expanded over time, according to the Japanese power company.
