Alessio Tizzanini

Alessio Tizzanini, MSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2008 at Bologna University, Executive Ph.D. in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology at Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, since 12 years manages international teams and projects within the Innovability Unit of the Enel Group (Enel Green Power and Enel X divisions). Its activities are related to main energy flexibility sources: battery energy storage systems (also coupled with renewables), demand response, aggregation of distributed energy resources. Technical solutions, business models, value propositions and commercial applications constitute the focus of developed project.  Among directly managed initiatives: first power plant in Italy with a renewable energy source (wind) integrated with a battery energy storage system, connected to the high voltage grid; M&A initiatives successfully completed within the digital energy sector; first commercial application ever in Italy of energy flexibility (Demand Response) supply within the TERNA’s pilot project “UVAM” via the aggregation of residential storage systems
