Arne Kristoffer Bayer

Dr. Arne Kristoffer Bayer has an MSc in mining engineering from RWTH Aachen, Germany, and spent some time at universities in Helsinki, London, and Delft (NL). He obtained his PhD in 2004 at the department for „Mining and excavation equipment“ leading a joint industry project with RWE. Until 2007 he worked for Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in the Utilities & Chemicals competence center and supported international customers to restructure and streamline their businesses, but also was involved in market entry strategies. In parallel Arne made an MBA and did work as visiting lecturer at INSEAD business school in Fontainebleau, France.
In 2007 Arne joined E.ON Kraftwerke as a project developer for conventional generation in CEE countries focusing on mine-mouth lignite and hard coal projects. From 2010 onwards he headed the strategy and business development department of E.ON’s project management and engineering entity E.ON Technologies.
Since October 2014 Arne coordinates the E.ON and now Uniper wide activities related to the demolition of gas, coal, and oil-fired power stations. As “Head of Asset Development” he is also responsible for the development of conventional generation projects in the Uniper portfolio from small-scale heat solutions to CCGT new build and major Life Time Extension projects as well as the transformation of existing sites beyond the current generation in the “masterplan” initiatives.
