Dr. Joseph Kitzweger

Dr. Joseph Kitzweger, Director Sustainable Development,Holcim Group, Austria.

Since many years working for LafargeHolcim, world leader in sustainable construction.

Studied Mineral Science at Mining University, Leoben, Austria and holds a doctoral degree from Technical University of Vienna, in Physics.

Worked in different functions at Lafarge Group (today LafargeHolcim), in Central-, Eastern European- and Middle East Countries. More recently he managed several years the Cement Operations at Mannersdorf Plant and afterwards went to Paris to LafargeHolcim’s French plants as Industrial Manager.

In 2020 he returned back to Austria to his current role at Lafarge Austria, as Director Sustainable Development, where he founded together with the partners OMV, Verbund and Borealis the Consortium “Carbon2Product Austria” (C2PAT), one of the flagship-projects of LafargeHolcim to support the companies “Net Zero Pledge” for a Carbon free future, producing out of the CO2, captured from a cement plant, with Green hydrogen, renewable based plastics.
