Dr. Pascal Torwelle

Dr. Pascal Torwelle, tenneT

Pascal Torwelle was born in Melle, Germany in 1992. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering in 2015 and 2017, respectively from the Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. In 2018, he joined the Supergrid Institute in Lyon, France as a research engineer working on protection concepts for multi-terminal HVDC grids. In 2021, he received his PhD from the University Grenoble Alps, France. He contributed to PROMOTioN Project Work Package 4, DC Grid protection system development. He is currently working with TenneT TSO in Bayreuth, Germany in the expert team “electrical system design”. His research interests include the control and protection of multi-terminal HVDC grids.
