Meriam Chebre

Mériam CHEBRE holds a senior position of R&D Competence Manager in TOTAL SA.

From 1989 to 1994 she was a research engineer in automation and APC (Advanced Process Control).

From 1994 to 2000 she held a research position as a project leader in AI (Artificial Intelligence) and machine learning (particularly in neural nets for soft sensing and fuzzy logic control). She won the best AI application prize in the process industry in France delivered by the Industrial Chemical Society (SCI) in 1994.

From 2000 to 2003 she joined the engineering division of TOTAL refining as APC engineer, in blending optimization and inferential modeling. From 2004 to 2013, she was a technology specialist and senior APC engineer. She became head of fuel blending optimization team in technology division of TOTAL refining and chemicals. She won the TOTAL Innovation Development Award of the best process for ULSD  (Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel) APC blending solution in 2007. She was member of the program committee of ERTC (European Refining Technology Conference) Asset Maximization Conference from 2007 to 2009 in Vienna, Roma & Lisbon and at IRPC (International Refining & Petrochemicals Conference) 2016 in Milan.

From 2014 to 2016, she was deputy to the delegate in modeling, simulation & optimization in TOTAL Scientific Development Program division, in charge of developing data centric approaches.

She won a TOTAL TWICE award in 2018 for her commitment to gender balance in science and technology for young women with Elles bougent French association in partnership with TOTAL (TWICE is TOTAL Women Communication and Exchange network).
