
Trond Jensen is a senior adviser at the Norwegian Transmission System Owner, Statnett SF. He has 20 years of work experience in the sector, the first 6 at the Norwegian Regulator, NVE. His experience covers economic modelling, market and investment analyses, grid planning and market design. His most recent position at Statnett is within market design, and the development of the Nordic Flow Based approach has been a central effort.
Before entering the energy sector, Trond worked as a researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Transport Economics for 9 years. His work was mostly focused on equilibrium modelling, network modelling and cost-benefit analyses.
Trond Jensen holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Bergen in 1991. His master thesis was based on his study of optimal CO2 tariffs conducted within the framework of a Norwegian national general equilibrium model.
