Aramco also signed four MoUs with French players Air Liquide, Alteia and Axens that aim to develop opportunities in carbon capture technology, artificial intelligence and local manufacturing.

Eight more companies have joined the AquaVentus project which aims at developing a 10GW wind-to-hydrogen project in Germany. These firms include the oil and gas production company Neptune Energy, Saipem, Ramboll and Heerema Marine Contractors. The membership network of AquaVentus has now grown to 79 companies including several big names from the offshore energy industry which have joined since the beginning of this year.

HyDeploy, the first project in the UK to blend hydrogen into a natural gas network has been hailed a success in a report published recently. Customers used hydrogen-blended gas safely in their homes and without the need to make any changes to their existing appliances. 100 homes and 30 university buildings on a private gas network at Keele University received the blended gas for a period of 18 months which ended in Spring 2021.

The round was led by Eni Next, the venture investment vehicle of Eni S.p.A, with participation from Good Growth Capital and Mount Wilson Ventures. Thiozen generates hydrogen from high-volume industrial waste stream and water, avoiding the large carbon footprint of traditional hydrogen production.
